Platform and Traditional Pedals
This category refers to any pedals that don't clip to the bottom of the rider's shoes.
Standard flat pedals to use with normal shoes suit all types of bikes where convenience of use is the priority.
Materials used can vary depending on intended use and type of bike, and range from plastic at the lower end of the range to metals such as aluminium and steels at higher price points.
Fitting of Pedals
The standard fitting for pedal axels is 9/16" which is used for most bikes that take traditional pedals. Some children’s bikes and BMX bikes will take ½" axles, so as ever with cycle components nothing is exactly standard. If in any doubt, don’t hesitate to contact us for further information.
Most traditional or standard flat pedals also come with a removable reflective strip on the side for good visibility in the dark and some provide toe clips to keep the riders foot secure.
